Hamming code detects and corrects the errors that can occur when the data is moved or stored from the sender to the receiver. In computer science and telecommunications, Hamming codes are a family of linear error-correcting codes. Hamming codes can detect one-bit and two-bit errors, or correct one-bit errors without detection of uncorrected errors. Transmitted data can be corrupted during communication. It is likely to be affected by external noise or other physical failures. In such a situation, the input data can’t be the same as the output data.
