This enables primitives to be used in object-oriented features such as collections, generics, and APIs that require objects. Wrapper classes provide a way to use primitive data types (int, boolean, etc..) as objects. The table below shows the primitive type and the equivalent wrapper class: As the name suggests, wrapper classes are objects encapsulating primitive Java types. Each Java primitive has a corresponding wrapper: 1. boolean, byte, short, char, int, long, float, double 2. Boolean, Byte, Short, Character, Integer, Long, Float, Double These are all defined in the java.langpackage, hence we don’t need to import them manually.
