Web Reference: Feb 4, 2026 · Java supports multithreading, where multiple threads run concurrently and the Thread Scheduler decides their execution order. Each thread is assigned a priority (1–10) that influences scheduling but does not guarantee execution order. Every thread has a priority. Threads with higher priority are executed in preference to threads with lower priority. Each thread may or may not also be marked as a daemon. In this tutorial, we’ll discusshow the Java thread scheduler executes threads on a priority basis. Additionally, we’ll cover the types of thread priorities in Java.
