Now, I know that sounds pretty basic and most of you already know variables, but they work very differently in Rust than in other languages.... Local variables are not initialized when allocated. Instead, the entire frame worth of local variables are allocated, on frame-entry, in an uninitialized state. Subsequent statements within a function may or may not initialize the local variables. Variables are containers for storing data values, like numbers and characters. To create a variable in Rust, use the let keyword and specify the name of the variable (name in this example):
