The nullish coalescing operator can be seen as a special case of the logical OR (||) operator. Description The ?? operator returns the right operand when the left operand is nullish (null or undefined), otherwise it returns the left operand. The nullish coalescing assignment operator (sometimes referred to as the logical nullish assignment operator) will allow you to assign a value to a variable, but only if value of this variable is NULL or undefined, without checking it first.
