Its location and contents determine the variable's characteristics. For variable naming rules and considerations, see Declared Element Names. Variables can be declared either explicitly or implicitly in Visual Basic. To declare variable explicitly it is required to use Dim keyword or Public keyword to declare the variable as public class or module member (refer the Variables Scope article for more information). The recommended practice is to declare all local variables within a procedure immediately following the Sub or Function header and prior to any executable statements (although VB will allow you to declare variables anywhere within the procedure).
