For errors in network operations we may need HttpError, for database operations DbError, for searching operations NotFoundError and so on. You need errors that carry meaningful names, specific error codes, and relevant context. JavaScript lets you create custom error classes by extending the built-in Error constructor. These custom errors integrate seamlessly with try...catch, instanceof checks, and the prototype chain. You have to switch on Error-type-hierarchy or object-value in JavaScript because you can only specify a single catch block. In your solution, (x instanceof NotImplementedError) is false, which isn't acceptable in my case.
