Web Reference: For compatibility reasons, repeating annotations are stored in a container annotation that is automatically generated by the Java compiler. In order for the compiler to do this, two declarations are required in your code. The annotation type must be marked with the @Repeatable meta-annotation. Before Java 8, a given annotation could only be set once on a method (or class, or field, etc.). So, if you wanted to be able to set two different schedules on a single method, you had to define a "wrapping" annotation such as Schedules, containing an array of Schedule annotions. This article explains what are Java 8 Repeating Annotations, how to define Repeating Annotations using the @Repeatable annotation and how these are handled internally.
