This function takes only a single parameter − 1. str : Pointer to the character array where the input string will be stored. It must have enough space to store the input string along with the null terminator. The gets() function does not perform bounds checking, therefore this function is extremely vulnerable to buffer-overflow attacks. It cannot be used safely (unless the program runs in an environment which restricts what can appear on stdin).
