It stores the input into a character array and stops reading when it reaches a newline character, the specified number of characters, or end-of-file (EOF). Parsing stops if a newline character is found (in which case str will contain that newline character) or if end-of-file occurs. The C library fgets (FILE *stream) function gets the next character ( unsigned char) from the specified stream and advances the position indicator for the stream.It is commonly used for reading input from a file or from standard input (stdin).
