Tim McHugh is a partner and managing director for William Blair based in the firm’s Chicago office. He joined the firm in 2002. Prior to working in investment banking at William Blair, he worked in William Blair’s equity research department, where he led the tech-enabled services group. Tim is Professor of Medical Microbiology and Director of the UCL Centre for Clinical Microbiology. Following a PhD and postdoctoral positions in parasitology he moved to a lectureship at the Royal Free where he developed interests in clinical microbiology and antimicrobial resistance in particular.
