Web Reference: The substring() method extracts characters, between two indices (positions), from a string, and returns the substring. The substring() method extracts characters from start to end (exclusive). The substring() method of String values returns the part of this string from the start index up to and excluding the end index, or to the end of the string if no end index is supplied. You call the Substring (Int32) method to extract a substring from a string that begins at a specified character position and ends at the end of the string. The starting character position is zero-based; in other words, the first character in the string is at index 0, not index 1.
