Michael Mitchell Jr. was arrested due to his alleged involvement in the second-degree murder of Michael Robinson Jr. The arrest occurred after a Louisiana State Trooper conducted a routine traffic stop and noticed bullet holes in Mitchell’s vehicle, a black Chevrolet Camaro, on Louisiana Highway 17. Michael Mitchell was found guilty on all three counts of capital murder after he shot and killed Lavon McCreary who was pregnant and had two children with her at the Pic N Save in Evergreen.
