Web Reference: The current release (a Jython 2.7.x) only supports Python 2 (sorry). There is work towards a Python 3 in the project’s GitHub repository. Jython implementations are freely available for both commercial and non-commercial use. They are distributed with source code under the PSF License v2. This is the development repository of Jython, the implementation of Python in Java. Only version 2.7 of Python can be supported at present (but watch this space for a 3.x version). However, on Frank Wierzbicki's Weblog (one of Jython's main developers) you can get an update, telling that Python 3 is definitely on the radar. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when, as it is stated in a comment in that same blog from 2010:
